Thursday's Thought for the Day

Menander (342-291 BC) was one of the great ancient Greek playwrights, especially noted for his comic works. Here's something he wrote that is worth keeping in mind:

"'Know Thyself' is a good saying,
but not in all situations.
In many, it is better to say,
'Know Others'."

Dr John,
Quick question - is that really a bust of Menander? How would you know for sure?

Lil Sis,
I can only say that it is apparently agreed to be Menander, as it popped up as such on several sites when I did an image search on Google. Whether it's a faithful likeness, I couldn't say.
