Soup Diary 091005
I think I've spoiled myself. This evening, I wanted something quick and hot, so I bought a can of Progresso Minestrone to heat up for dinner. It was the first canned soup I've eaten in I can't even say how long, and it wasn't very good. It was quick and hot, so I guess it wasn't a total loss. But it appears that my near obsessive pursuit of gourmet soups going back to last Spring has left me unable to enjoy or even tolerate my old canned favorites. There's just no comparison with something made from scratch. Though to really test this theory, I guess I'll have to get some Campbell's Bean with Bacon-- if that no longer satisfies, then I truly have turned a corner.
