Classic Steve Martin

Here's one especially for my nephew Ben-- who is something of an amateur Egyptologist. You wouldn't know it from his recent movies, but Steve Martin really is a comedic genius. His memoir of his early days as a performer, Standing Up: A Comic's Life, goes into how his act evolved, and it's not surprising that it emerged from a thoughtful, even philosophical, point-of-view. On the surface, this is just silly, but there is a cutting message too, if you're inclined to hear it:
