Tribute to Powell & Loy

One of the all-time great movie series was The Thin Man string of films from the thirties and forties starring William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charles. Based on a Dashiell Hammett novel (wherein the titular "Thin Man" referred not to Charles, but rather the man he was searching for), the series soon took off in a decidedly less hard-boiled direction than one might typically associate with Hammett's influence. Really, each successive film seemed to depend more and more on the appeal of the stars, but with a pair this well matched,that was plenty. Anyway, here's a series of clips that give you some idea of just how good these two actors were, and never moreso than when playing off each other (though the makers of this compilation might've included more Asta-- the canine star of the series):
