I've featured and commented on George Herriman's classic Krazy Kat in the past, and here are a couple more examples of his fine work. Notable in these examples is the subtle message on race-- apparently Herriman himself was of mixed ancestry, and these strips provided an outlet for commentary on what at the time would have been difficult to address head-on (especially in the comics). Just another example of Herriman's genius.
