Meade Lux Lewis was one of the three kings of boogie-woogie piano in the 1930s and 1940s (Pete Johnson and Albert Ammons, dad of saxman Gene were the other two). Here's a pretty cool clip of him demonstrating his skills. It'd be hard to argue that this isn't rock and roll, a good fifteen or so years before anyone ever heard of Elvis Presley:
