There's an argument that can be made that "Flyin' Home" by the Lionel Hampton Orchestra was the first rock and roll record. That record was not this version, but rather the disc released in 1942 with Illinois Jacquet providing a honking sax solo. But this one cooks too, even without Jacquet, and sounds as fresh to me as I'm sure it did to listeners in 1957 or 1942:
