Here is one of the most notorious segments from the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour back in 1967. At the time, the Who were virtually unknown in this country, though they'd caused a bit of a stir at the Monterey Pop Festival the previous summer. Part of their act was to smash up their equipment at the end of a show, but Keith Moon raised the stakes in this instance by loading his bass drum with explosives. It certainly created the impression that anything might happen on the Smothers Brothers' show:
