I really love it when there is some serendipitous convergence of real life and the funnies, and just such a connection occurred when I read the above strip this morning. As it happens, I am currently teaching a course on the United States Since 1945, and almost every day we're dealing with events that seem like "only yesterday" to me while they mostly happened years-- even generations-- before my students were born. I mean, it's one thing that they don't remember Kennedy or even Nixon, but they weren't alive yet when Reagan was in office! Oh well, I guess it's like Steve Miller sang: "Time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping into the future..."

Sunday Funnies
