Ted Hawkins was kind of famous (famous being a very relative term in this context) for busking on the Venice Pier in California for many years. Although he'd made some fine records earlier in his career, no one really payed much attention to him until he was rediscovered playing requests for the tourists. Anyway, that led to a late life renaissance of sorts, and this was one of the songs that highlighted his later performances. I wish it were a longer version of the song (a remake of an old Webb Pierce country standard), but it gives you a good idea of the soulfullness of Hawkins' style:
