William Jennings Bryan sometimes gets a bad rap for the role he played in the Scopes "Monkey" Trial of 1925. But no one can argue that he was generally one of the few politicians of his (or any) era to exhibit a pretty consistent moral character (even resigning as Secretary of State when Woodrow Wilson asked Congress to declare war on Germany in 1917). Here's something he said that is worth considering:
