Back in the late seventies, Neil Innes and Eric Idle created the Rutles for a TV special called All You Need is Cash. Idle you probably remember was a member of Monty Python and Innes was a previously member of the Bonzo Doodah Dog Band (which was, like the Pythons with television, pretty much devoted to making comic mincemeat of the pop music scene). They put their heads together and came up with some wicked parodies of Beatles songs for the program-- this was always my favorite (be sure to listen to the end):
