The plane makes me think of a character in the show Northern Exposure (which you posted pictures of recently) so I guess this is near the town of Roslyn in Washington

Sally's reasoning sounds reasonable to me but in the interest of variety, I first thought it might be Lake Washington, right there in Seattle. Mom

I really don't think this was taken in the Pacific Northwest.... Washington to be exact. The Hotel on the shore means it is a destination spot - I would guess it could be Coeur D'Alene Idaho due to the cloudy weather.... but I also feel that it could be a lake from your journey to Las Vegas/California and this could be located in Nevada/California someplace. hmmmm is it ok I guessed twice?
Lizzy got it-- it's Lake Coeur d'Alene. I stopped there on my last drive out to Seattle and took the picture then. It was an unseasonably cold day and there was virtually no one around, so a lot of scenery was kind of going to waste. But I guess if you see it all the time...
