Another Quote

Here's another take on the theme I was focusing on yesterday. Guy DeBord was a writer and filmmaker, a contemporary of Jean Baudrillard, who saw people drifting away from actual experience and becoming consumed with a manufactured reality. This quote gives you some idea of his position (and remember, I post these ideas not necessarily because I agree with them, but because I think they might prompt some thought; which is a good thing, right?):

"In societies where modern conditions of
production prevail, all of life presents itself
as an immense accumulation of spectacles.
Everything that was directly lived has
moved away into a representation.
