Defying Evolution (in a manner of speaking)

Back in this post on one of my favorite paintings, I shared an image of this same building as depicted by Charles Burchfield back in 1929 (80 years ago). Above is a snapshot I took approximately 80 minutes ago of the same corner and building (which is now a coffee shop and sits across from the Buffalo & Erie County Library (where I am typing up this post). Although the surroundings have changed considerably, that corner building is remarkably similar to the way Burchfield saw it all those years ago. It's nice to know that some things remain relatively the same over the passing years.
