I wish someone was writing great protest music like this today. Richard Farina wrote a classic novel (Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up To Me), then turned to music with his wife Mimi, who was Joan Baez's younger sister. They made some great music together before Richard sadly dies in a motorcycle accident. Here they are performing one of their classic tunes on Pete Seeger's Rainbow Quest TV show:
