Friday Philosophy

Gaetano Salvemini (1873-1957) was an Italian historian, politician, and committed anti-fascist, the latter forcing him into exile with the rise of Mussolini. So I suppose it's safe to see this sentiment arising from what he witnessed in his native country:

"Impartiality is either a delusion of the
simple-minded, a banner of the opportunist,
or the boast of the dishonest. Nobody is
entitled to be unbiased toward truth or falsehood."
