Wednesday's Quote

In honor of last night's All-Star Game, this comment from historian Jacques Barzun seemed appropriate to share. I often go for a bike ride in the evening and stop to take in a few innings of a game I pass along the way, so I fully agree with his sentiment:

“Whoever wants to know the heart and mind
of America had better learn baseball, the rules
and realities of the game and do it by watching
first some high-school or small-town teams”
