I know that officially summer is still about three weeks away, but a day like today makes me feel like its already here. Gorgeous weather led me outdoors to Delaware Park where I shot the above picture in the Rose Garden there. I'm not usually drawn to take pictures of flowers, but couldn't resist how glorious these looked in the late morning sun.
I also took a walk along the Erie Basin Marina. I'm guessing a lot of these boats were out over the long Memorial Day weekend, but they made an appealing photographic subject for me while moored in their berths (are those the proper nautical terms?).
Tonight, it was a trip to the old ballpark to see the Bisons (that's 1B Mike Jacobs swinging the bat above) take down the Syracuse Chiefs. I also bought a ticket for Thursday's game, when I'll get to see what is supposed to be the last minor league appearance by all-world phenom Steven Strasburg (pitching for the Chiefs). I'll have a report on that later in the week.
