A Tuesday Quote

Bertrand Russell (1872-1970) was a famous English mathematician and philosopher; in fact he tried for awhile to prove that philosophy could be made to conform to the precision one associates with math. Anyway, here's something he said that is worth sharing on the nature of opinions:

"The fact that an opinion has been widely
held is no evidence whatever that it is not
utterly absurd; indeed in view of the
silliness of the majority of mankind,
a widespread belief is more likely
to be foolish than sensible."
