Today's Great Thought

Here's something written by the Roman thinker Epictetus back around 135 AD. It was a different time, of course, but his conclusion remains every bit as true today:

"We must not believe the many who say
that only free people ought to be educated,
but we should rather believe the philosophers
who say that only the educated are free."
