Interesting Article

If anyone out there is still enmeshed in the afterglow of last Sunday's Oscar ceremony, you might want to take a look at this take on the proceedings by Armond White. White is one of the most interesting critics out there, a true cinephile who evidently devotes considerable thought to his reviews, which is pretty uncommon anymore. I don't always agree with his views (for one thing, he holds Stephen Spielberg in much higher regard than I do), but I'm almost always interested in reading how he arrives at his conclusions, and I think we're more or less on the same page with regard to The Hurt Locker-- though he makes the case more clearly and completely than I did the other day.
