Friday Philosophy

Dante Alighieri (1265-1321) is perhaps the greatest literary figure in Italian history, and one of the great figures to emerge from Florence. In some ways, his own renown contradicts the sentiment expressed in this comment he made:

"Worldly fame is but a breath of wind
that blows now this way, and now that,
and changes name as it changes direction."
