Back when I was in grad school, Universal Honey from Toronto used to play live in Buffalo pretty regularly and I saw them a few times. They always put on a great show and I was always a little mystified as to why they didn't become bigger, though as far as I can tell, they're still active and there's something to be said for that kind of longevity (maybe especially in the absence of mass popularity).
