Friday's Quote

I always thought of the novelist Henry James as something of a stuffed-shirt. That hasn't really changed, but I think he was on to something with this particular comment:

"It is, I think, an indisputable fact that Americans are,
as Americans, the most self-conscious people in the
world, and the most addicted to the belief that other
nations are in conspiracy to under-value them."
