A Musical Interlude

Here's one that maybe even Mom will enjoy: Anita O'Day (her name means "money" in Pig Latin) and Roy "Little Jazz" Eldridge with the Gene Krupa Orchestra from 1942. To me, this is rock and roll in everything but name (but then I tend to a very broad definition of rock and roll ;-)

Now THAT is what I call music!!!!
1942 - I was a sophmore in high school and after school we all went down to Isaly's Ice Cream Parlor and ordered cherry cokes and pretzel sticks. We wore sloppy Joe sweaters, and saddle shoes. And we played the juke box and jitterbugged in the back of the store for an hour or so. Thanks for the memory, John!! Mom
