Monday's Quote

Here's a line from the Bohemian writer Franz Kafka (1883-1924) that speaks to the need to be engaged and active, rather than withdrawn from the issues of the day:

"You can hold back from the suffering
of the world, you have free permission
to do so and it is in accordance with your
nature, but perhaps this very holding
back is the one suffering that you
could have avoided."
