I took
a lot of pictures of surfers on my recent trip to California, most of which are pretty mundane, or capture the moment just before or after some elegant swirling movement (including a lot of just a tip of a board as the surfer disappears beneath the wave). But some turned out okay, including these four.
I like the action aspect of this sport, along with the colors of sea and sky which have an "endless summer" kind of feel (the name of a great movie about surfing, by the way).
As winter lingers over Montana (today was gorgeous, but they're predicting snow again for tomorrow), I also like to recall how great it was to be out on the beach in shorts and sandals enjoying the warmth as well as the action out on the waves.
