Thought of the Day

Let's hope that the Scottish philosopher David Hume (1711-1776) was wrong with this observation, or else we're in big trouble in this country the way things are going:

"This avidity alone, of acquiring goods and
possessions for ourselves and our nearest
friends, is insatiable, perpetual, universal,
and directly destructive of society."
