The Go-Betweens put out a bunch of great records in the seventies and eighties, then broke up, as bands are wont to do. But they regrouped in the late nineties and didn't just recapture their earlier glory, but, I'd argue, surpassed it (that doesn't happen very often). And it was a high standard set by the earlier incarnation, as you can tell from the following song (I'll try to remember to post something from Mach II tomorrow):
