Today's Quotation

The following might stand as a motto for this blog, since I've devoted so much of it to sharing photographs over the past couple of years. Edward Steichen was arguably the greatest American photographer of the first half of the 20th century, equally adept at urban landscapes and Hollywood portraits:

“Photography records the gamut of feelings
written on the human face, the beauty of the
earth and skies that man has inherited, and
the wealth and confusion man has created.
It is a major force in explaining man to man.”
