Quote of the Day

George Jean Nathan (1882-1958) was a pretty well-known man of letters in the first half of the twentieth century, known primarily for his theater criticism. Here's a line of his that I agree with:
"A life spent in constant labor is a life
wasted, save a man be such a fool as
to regard a fulsome obituary notice
as ample reward."
