One of the thrills of collecting records is to come across something totally obscure, that you were totally unaware of, but that really deserved to be a big hit. I think this song qualifies-- it goes back to 1966 or 67, but I never heard it before I picked up a used small-label compilation of "soft psychedelia" a couple of weeks ago. Of course, it's also out there on YouTube (but how would I have known to look for it, without finding that comp first?):
