Wednesday's Words of Wisdom

Harry Emerson Fosdick (1878-1969) was an American clergyman who was born in Buffalo, NY (just like me), and gained some fame in the first half of the twentieth century. This quote gives you some idea of his philosophy:

"No horse gets anywhere until he is harnessed. No
stream or gas drives anything until it is confined.
No Niagara is ever turned into light and power
until it is tunneled. No life ever grows great
until it is focused, dedicated, disciplined."

Mom,
I don't know. Though he was born in Buffalo, I think he became famous after moving away. But maybe a relative.
