Monitoring the Media

Here's a blog post from a reader of Talking Points Memo that is worth a read. Unfortunately, it comes as little surprise that our media has become so degraded that it is willing to play up disaster for ratings rather than concentrating on getting the story right. Keep this in mind when following coverage of the more mundane day-to-day events that are no doubt subject to the same kind of exaggeration and misinformation, if there's some drama to be mined for Nielson points.
