Curtis sent me a bunch of pictures from the Blizzard of '77, and I thought this one was especially interesting, looking over a snow-covered downtown Buffalo. What I remember best about the blizzard was that it meant all my midterm exams at Cardinal O'Hara High School were canceled. I'm not sure I'd be quite so sanquine about such a thing today, being on the other side of the teacher's desk (then again, maybe I would ;-)

Dr John,
Like most times like this (and this years past Christmas snow here in the Northwest) it was sure prettier to look at than to move through =)
Lil' Sis
How well I remember the blizzard of '77. Nothing was moving that evening and I had to stay at the hospital and feed, not only our patients, staff and visitors, but also all the electricians, carpenters, masons, architects, plumbers and painters that were stuck there. They spent the evening in our waiting rooms, watching Roots on TV. To add to the fun, my kitchen was being renovated and half of it was under construction. Our vendors brought food in by helicopter. What a time!
