A Tuesday Thought

This strikes me as an incredibly astute observation from the journalist and broadcaster Edward R. Murrow (1908-1965). It's one of the reasons it's so hard to generate much trust in public figures:

"Except for those who think in terms of pious
platitudes or dogma or narrow prejudice (and
those thoughts we aren't interested in), people
don't speak their beliefs easily, or publicly."
