I'm not sure I agree with this statement, but I'm not surprised that Andy Warhol (1927-1987) would say it:
"It's the movies that have really been running things in America ever since they were invented. They show you what to do, how to do it, when to do it, how to feel about it, and how to look how you feel about it."

I don't know, John. I think Andy was on to something here...Mom
He's not far off-- but I'm not sure that amounts to running things. If movies were in control, I suspect things would be much better.
