He donated a large number of his paintings to the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in my hometown of Buffalo, NY, where I saw and came to like his work over the years. But I will admit, it's something of an acquired taste.

In Case You Were Wondering...

When you get home, we'll go to the Albright-Knox. They've got several of Still's works hanging in the gallery that was formerly the home of the Jackson Pollack.

Did you ever notice that the gallery on the east end of the main special exhibit hall is named after Still? For years and years, it was filled with his work exclusively. I suspect that was part of his bequeath to the Museum-- that they provide him with an ongoing exhibit (though there must've been a time limit on that, as they don't do it anymore).
