Butch Hancock is such a good (and prolific) songwriter that it's virtually impossible to pick a favorite from among his compositions. But from the first time I heard Jimmie Dale Gilmore perform this one, it's been at the top of the list (I first heard it almost twenty years ago). Here's a recent live rendition by Mr. Gilmore:
