When I first heard Al Jarreau do this song sometime around 1977 or 78, it sparked an interest in jazz that continues down to the present. In other words, this was the entry point for me to eventually check out John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis, Art Blakey, etc. etc etc. I haven't heard this in probably twenty years, but when I stumbled across it on YouTube it reminded me of the impact it had way back when.
