I would rank this among the top ten country songs of all time: "I'm Moving On" by Hank Snow. You can really hear the song's roots in the work of Jimmie Rodgers from twenty plus years earlier, but it also sounds incredibly modern (for its early fifties context), almost a precursor of rock and roll. In fact Snow probably deserves to be mentioned in the same breath with the other Hank from that era as one of the main figures to represent the early links between country and rock. Check it out:
