Cool Song

Here's Robyn Hitchcock and the Venus Three (essentially REM without Stipe or Mills) with a live rendition of the Soft Boys classic "Kingdom of Love." Of course, Hitchcock was a member of that group too.

RH is among my all time favorites. When I lived in Athens, GA, (1990ish) he was there recording with REM and Billy Bragg. A few years ago I went back to the 40 Watt to see him again (w/Venus 3). I was surprised at the small crowd (I think it was pretty soon after Peter Buck was inducted into the HOF) ... all of the usual Athens suspects were there, though (like Fred Schneider and his entourage). It was a great show, but the highlight was the next morning. My GF and I bumped into RH and his wife having breakfast, so we got to chat a little (we were the only people in the cafe).

I hope that he and Andy Partridge (XTC) finish their project together (only one or two songs have been released). According to AP's tweets, RH is too busy to finish half the things he starts.
