Here are a few random shots from time spent at Santa Monica beach last week. I would go down very early (like 7 am) when the parking was free and there weren't a lot of people around. There was also that beautiful morning sunshine.
The pier also makes for a great subject, with all the colors of the amusement park there contrasting with the surrounding ocean.
I thought this turned out pretty good in a kind of abstract sort of way-- of course the rides weren't running so early in the morning, so there was a certain deserted feel about the place.
And more palm trees, which I really like.
