Classic Jason and the Scorchers

It's been awhile since I put something up from the original cow-punks, Jason and the Scorchers (well, maybe not literally the first, but probably the best). This song goes back to their mid-eighties heyday, and you'll notice some MTV-esque touches that were entirely unnecessary to sell the song, but I guess that was the way they did things back then. These guys were fantastic live, as evidenced by a show I saw where there were only about twenty folks in the audience yet they ripped it up nonetheless. My favorite shows tend to be the ones where the performers are clearly enjoying themselves, and that was clearly the case with the Scorchers. It was also the case when I saw leader Jason Ringenberg about fifteen years later in a solo show. Anyway, here they are with "White Lies":
