Here's a real find (to me at least: I never saw this before today). It's a Spinal Tap video that aired several years before This Is Spinal Tap was made! It was in a sketch comedy pilot that aired once in 1979, but was not picked up as a regular series. You'll probably recognize Rob Reiner introducing the group, and of course Michael McKean, Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer. The keyboardist is actually Loudon Wainwright III. I wonder why this never popped up as an extra on any of the film's DVD releases (or did it and I just somehow forgot?). You know what I find especially interesting? This was made a couple years before MTV went on the air, yet there are several video cliches evident in the clip. Check it out:
