Sunday's Quote of the Day

William Penn (1644-1718) was of course the founder of Pennsylvania, which he established as something of a refuge for those of the Quaker faith. I like this comment from his work Some Fruits of Solitude in 1693:

"The humble, meek, merciful, just, pious
and devout souls everywhere are of one
religion, and when death has taken off
the mask, they will know one another,
though the diverse liveries they wore
here make them strangers."
