A Thought for Tuesday

I know that the week of music quotes ended a couple days ago, but this was too good not to post right away (instead of waiting for the next themed week). This is from the Scottish historian Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881):

"Every day that is born into the world
comes like a burst of music and rings
the whole day through, and you make
of it a dance, a dirge, or a life march,
