A Quote for Saturday Morning

Christian Johann Heinrich Heine (1797-1856) was one of the esteemed romantic poets of the nineteenth century. Whatever else he wrote or said, he certainly was dead on with this particular observation:

"Music is a strange thing. I would almost
say it is a miracle. For it stands halfway
between thought and phenomenon,
between spirit an matter."
