I enjoy reading the views of artists, and not just on art. Willem de Kooning (1904-1997) was one of the great abstract expressionists to emerge after World War II. I like this statement, which certainly applies to art, but not solely:
"The attitude that nature is chaotic and that the artist puts order into it is a very absurd point of view, I think. All that we can hope for is to put some order into ourselves."
